my best person is getting married! i am so so excited to be involved, not just as a bridesmaid, but she trusted me to create her wedding invitations. it was so much fun and something really different for me try my hand at – pixel art!

here are some “works in progress” i am busy scribbling for a group exhibition happening in johannesburg (10-29 February). the art of happiness : 13 taking place at the bamboo centre in melville, will feature 13 illustrators from various parts of the country…
i decided to do mostly handmade christmas presents this year. now this sounded like a great idea, a money-saver, however, the real challenge was finding the time during the busy working festive season for extra once-off drawings. here were the three illustrations i managed…for the rest i baked delicious cinnamon christmas cookies! (which i will post about later)

attention all durbanites! the wonderful i heart market will be at the moses mabida stadium this saturday (and, indeed, all saturdays to come)…so i hope to see you all on the upper lawns, diagonally opposite kings park virgin active for a new market experience!
i was excited and extremely honoured when a very talented friend of mine asked me to do the cover design of her latest album. i met jaspar lepak just over a year ago and we’ve become fast friends. she is an amazingly gifted musician with a beautiful voice and soft spot for country/folk music.

i can hear the approaching hoofbeats of the house & garden show, which opens this friday (24 June). i am working my fingers to the bone and my little heart is pounding with excitement and anxiety as i rush to get everything ready for the opening. whimsy will be launching a t-shirt range to test the “market waters” and should it prove a sea-worthy…well, let’s just say i am looking forward to the potential design fun.
